MV Leadership Training Institute

Friday, August 26 - 28, 2016

This event is for any local youth group board or cabinet member, any teen planning a regional event or any future leader to develop their leadership skills, meet with their networks and plan for the upcoming year. We are also very excited to invite all incoming freshman to learn about NFTY, get to know Missouri Valley and explore being leaders.

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9-12. 


  • Meals are included in the cost of the event.
  • Registration will be accepted after August 9 on a space-available basis.
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.

If you are flying please plan on landing at MCI by 1:30 PM on Friday, August 26th and leaving MCI after 2:00 PM on Sunday.

If you are flying (and your youth group did not purchase your ticket), you may be eligible for travel reimbursement. Your ticket must have been purchased by Tuesday, July 26th and the Travel Reimbursement Form must be completed by Tuesday, August 9th. Tickets costing up to $199 are eligible for $25 and tickets costing $200 or more are eligible for $50.

Participants will receive an email the week before the event that will include housing information, a packing list and other important information regarding the event.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through August 4, 2016 – 90% of the registration fees paid Through August 11, 2016 – 75% of the registration fees paid Through August 18, 2016 – 50% of the registration fees paid

After August 18, 2016 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after August 18, 2016 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid. Please note that we cannot offer credits in exchange of refunds.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to nftymv@urj.org. We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.

The NFTY-MV Scholarship Application is due on Thursday, June 30th. All who apply will receive information about the scholarship amount by Wednesday, July 6th. It is important that you wait register until you receive an email confirming the scholarship.  At that time, the amount will have been placed into your registration account so you will be charged the event fee less the amount of the scholarship. When you register, it looks like you will be charged the total amount, but the NFTY Registrar process each payment by hand and only charges your credit card the amount less the scholarship submitted by NFTY-MV.  You will receive another confirmation email when your card is charged with a link to your account to check the amount.  This may take up to 5 business days after you register for the event.
